Looking for Women Leaders -- Strong Women Strong Girls

Last week, I was honored to attend the Strong Awards in Pittsburgh. My history with Strong Women Strong Girls (SWSG) includes some time spent working with the organization during my time as a Junior League of Pittsburgh member. SWSG takes business women and connects them with women college students who themselves mentor school-age girls. Before attending the awards event, I sat down with KGSB sister alumna Laura Freedman. Laura is the incoming SWSG Board Chair and we talked about her exciting new role at SWSG. During our conversation, Laura expressed the desire to recruit more diverse business women and college women to become volunteers of SWSG. While the organization has a hefty volunteer corps of hundreds of women an infusion of African-Americans as volunteers would add greater strength to this wonderful organization.  Visit the Strong Women Strong Girls Website to learn more about them.
